Bombardier partners with CGI - Two Montreal giants unite

CGI announced today the signing of a 7-year contract with Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP). Read the press release here.

It’s good to see one of Montreal’s most recognized corporations call on another local leader for its business needs.

Regarding Montreal’s big corporations, an interesting article appeared in last Saturday’s La Presse on the notoriety of Montreal vs. Toronto. In it, it was revealed that Bombardier is the Montreal-based corporation that is the most often associated with Montreal in the international press. Out of the ten companies on the list, two are in the ICT industry: Ubisoft and Bell Canada. CGI, one of the largest employers in the IT industry in Québec (over 8000 employees in the province) isn’t on there.

I guess Ski-Doos and video games are a lot sexier than ERP systems and IT outsourcing!
